So yesterday, I came back from my three-day trip to San Diego, and it was quite the experience. This was the first time I have traveled with my dad since I was an infant, and as such, I was very nervous about traveling with him, since his behaviour ain't exactly mature, which has lead to a somewhat-strained relationship. But anyways, we flew out of Orlando, and the flight lasted about 5 hours. My dad took a crap ton of pictures with his phone, much to my annoyance, didn't help the fact that I wasn't comfortable having to sit for that long. Once we landed and got a rental car, we struggled to find our way around the city, especially since the roads were more confusing to navigate than the ones where we live (but then again, you could argue that that's just due to being in a new place). Before checking into the hotel, we stopped for a bit to eat at a Denny's across the street from it. I originally wanted to go see the sunset at the beach, but I ended up crashing once we got in the hotel, and by the time I woke up, it was pretty much too late, so I just went back to sleep.

The following day, before the event, my dad and I did try going to the beach anyways, but it was so crowded that we couldn't even find a parking spot. I could only catch a brief, two second-long glimpse of the Pacific Ocean, before my dad gave up and left. Later my dad tried calling the House of Blues venue (where the event was being held) to find out some information about when they would start allowing people into the venue, but the person on the other end also told him that no cameras or backpacks would be allowed. As a result, I did not get any pictures or video of the event itself (my dad did with his phone), which really upsets me because I later on found out that the person on the other end was incorrect about that. Due to traffic, I ended up getting the the venue much later than I originally wanted, but it was still before it officially started. Unfortunately, because of how long the line was, as well as how they were actually letting people into the venue, I was unable to actually get inside until about half an hour AFTER the event started. I able to get to the stage area just in time to see Crush 40 play, and boy did it not disappoint! Most of the rest of the event I spent wondering around, trying to find a place to sit down, since my feet were killing me, but they didn't really have any actual seating outside of the VIP area. As a result, I sadly missed a lot of the stuff going on during the mid-portion of the event. I did get back to the stage area to see the reveal trailer for Sonic 2017, and lemme just say that the crowd went nuts over it, especially when Classic Sonic came on screen. As expected though, once the event ended and I got back to the hotel, I crashed again. You can see some of the merch I got at the event here:

Nothing really too interesting happened the next day, aside from it being the day that we returned home. Having another 5 hour-long plane trip to endure wasn't pleasant, and even though I complained about my dad taking so many pictures on the previous plane trip, I took quite a few on the trip home. I also shot some video, which I may or may not decide to post later.

Overall, I had fun on this tip, despite some of the frustration we had trying to navigate San Diego. And of course the anniversary party was something else. Here's hoping I get to do some more trips like this in the future. Also, over 1,000 messages in my inbox in just three days, jeez..

Mood: :sleepy: Tired
Still somewhat exhausted from the trip
